The Green Bay Area Research Center
The Green Bay Area Research Center is located on the 7th floor of the Cofrin Library on the UW-Green Bay campus. As the official repository for the Wisconsin Historical Society's documents and collections pertaining to Northeastern Wisconsin, we are a popular research site for genealogists and local historians. UWGB faculty use our resources as a basis for many class assignments, and middle/high school students from the region use our resources to create National History Day projects, earn scout badges, and do school assignments. We house original materials as far back as the early 1800s from area courthouses, clubs and organizations, and even diaries and letters from individuals. We also have maps, photographs, and oral history interviews. We help individuals find their ancestors, do house histories, research legal issues, and learn about historical events, places, and people from northeastern Wisconsin.
